Minimal Wind is an Estonian 5-member vocal-instrumental ensemble (which was formed around the previous guitar duo Taavi and Paula) and which has been active since 2021. In terms of genre, the band’s creation is somewhere between soul, R&B, pop and indie rock.

Minimal Wind is an unlikely community of people who have found a common creative breath. They achieve this by inspiring each other by spending time together, e.g. watching Eurovision and jamming at band rehearsals and gigs. For Minimal Wind, it is important that the moments spent together are enjoyable and fun. They are a band and a group of friends for whom the most important things are authenticity (being 100% yourself), self-expression, the freedom to try different crazy ideas and then see what happens. They also find inspiration from other people, emotions, art, noticing the beauty in everyday things and music that comes from the soul – whether it’s a blackly sung but sincere lullaby or a rock concert in front of 100,000 people.

The band members express the following thoughts:

– “After the Estonian Song contest, people started treating us with more respect, which gave us a lot of self-confidence and self-belief. We didn’t change, but the way people treated us did. Treating other people with respect is free of charge, no matter where they are in the social hierarchy. I recommend trying to be a little more respectful, a little nicer, a little funnier. We are all mortals on our own unique journeys and all deserve respect, encouragement, support.”

– “Lately, I like the idea that people are like flowers. One growth environment suits one and some, another. One blooms at one time, the other at another time. Some have a big bright flower blossom, some have a tiny white button. But all are unique and beautiful. :)”
